About The Position

American Trucking Group is hiring a dedicated flatbed driver in Mobile, Alabama to haul stainless-steel coils and sheets. Outbound freight originates near Calvert, Alabama, and planned backhauls help reduce empty miles and move the truck toward Alabama for the next dedicated shipment. Backhaul freight may include lumber, insulation, and other flatbed commodities depending on availability. Drivers are home every weekend for a 34-hour reset. The account primarily involves live loading and unloading. Approximately 75% of outbound loads require tarping. Drivers handle smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets, using steel and coil securement. The same trailer stays with the driver throughout the trip. Assigned equipment consists of a newer-model Kenworth T680 tractor and a 2025 Extreme 48-foot flatbed trailer configured for this account’s securement and tarping requirements. Weekly earnings are $2,000 to $2,100. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified drivers. Orientation is paid Monday through Thursday at $100 per day, with hotel accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements provided.

Requirements

Valid CDL-A license.
Minimum one year of OTR experience within the last five years.
Minimum six months of flatbed experience.
Steel-hauling experience.
Current coil-hauling certification.
Tarping and load-securement experience.
Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Transport dedicated stainless-steel coils and sheets on planned routes originating near Calvert, Alabama.
Handle steel and coil securement and tarp loads when required; approximately 75% of outbound loads require tarping.
Participate in primarily live loading and live unloading.
Transport backhaul freight, which may include lumber, insulation, and other flatbed commodities based on availability.
Use the assigned flatbed trailer, which stays with the driver throughout the trip.
