About The Position

Drive a dedicated account hauling stainless-steel freight originating near Calvert, Alabama. Loads include smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets and are primarily live loaded and live unloaded. Approximately 75% of loads require tarping with lightweight six-foot drop tarps; tarp compensation is included in the account's pay program. Planned backhauls help position the truck toward the next outbound shipment, with consistent freight movement throughout the week and home every weekend for a 34-hour reset. Pay is $2,000 to $2,100 per week, and qualified drivers are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Drivers are assigned newer-model Kenworth T680 tractors and 2025 Extreme flatbed trailers equipped for the customer freight. Each 48-foot trailer has 12 winches and straps and two lightweight six-foot drop tarps. Drivers remain with the same trailer throughout each trip. Orientation takes place Monday through Thursday and pays $100 per day. Hotel accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements are provided. After orientation, drivers transition into their assigned equipment and begin running the dedicated account.

Requirements

Valid CDL-A license.
At least one year of OTR experience within the last five years.
At least six months of flatbed experience.
Steel-hauling experience.
Current coil-hauling certification.
Tarping and load-securement experience.
Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Haul stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets on a dedicated account originating near Calvert, Alabama.
Tarp loads as required, approximately 75% of the time, using lightweight six-foot drop tarps.
Secure freight using the equipment provided on the assigned flatbed trailer.
Continue freight movement after delivery by using available planned backhaul loads.
