About The Position

American Trucking Group is hiring a dedicated flatbed driver in Mobile, Alabama, to transport stainless-steel coils and sheets. The weekly freight run originates near Calvert, Alabama, and planned backhauls help move the truck toward Alabama and the next dedicated shipment. Drivers are home every weekend for a 34-hour reset. Loads consist of smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets. Approximately 75% of outbound loads require tarping, and freight is primarily live loaded and live unloaded. Backhaul freight may include lumber, insulation, and other flatbed commodities depending on availability. The same trailer stays with the driver throughout the trip. Drivers operate an assigned Kenworth T680 tractor with a 2025 Extreme 48-foot flatbed trailer, equipped for the account’s securement and tarping needs. Weekly earnings are $2,000 to $2,100. Qualified drivers may be eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Orientation is paid Monday through Thursday at $100 per day, with hotel accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements provided.

Requirements

Valid CDL-A license.
Minimum one year of OTR experience within the last five years.
Minimum six months of flatbed experience.
Steel-hauling experience.
Current coil-hauling certification.
Tarping and load-securement experience.
Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Transport dedicated stainless-steel coils and sheets and available flatbed backhaul freight.
Tarp loads as required; approximately 75% of outbound loads require tarping.
Secure steel and coil freight using the required equipment.
Complete primarily live loading and live unloading.
Operate the assigned tractor and flatbed trailer; keep the same trailer throughout the trip.
