The CDL-A Dedicated Flatbed Driver transports dedicated stainless-steel freight, including smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets, originating near Calvert, Alabama. Freight is primarily live loaded and live unloaded, and approximately 75% of loads require tarping. Drivers use lightweight six-foot drop tarps, with tarp compensation included in the account's pay program. Planned backhauls help maintain productive movement and position trucks for upcoming outbound freight. Drivers earn $2,000 to $2,100 per week and are home every weekend for a 34-hour reset. Qualified drivers are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The operation assigns newer-model Kenworth T680 tractors and 2025 Extreme flatbed trailers configured for the account. Drivers remain with the same trailer throughout each trip. Orientation is held Monday through Thursday and pays $100 per day. Hotel accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements are provided. After orientation, drivers move into their assigned equipment and begin operating on the dedicated account.
