About The Position

The Catering person assists with the timely preparation, setup, teardown, and cleanup of food and service items for deliveries and catered events. The role coordinates setups and deliveries, confirms order details and timing, serves Guests, and suggestively sells drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and catering menus in a friendly, outgoing manner. The employee ensures catering and delivery orders are accurate and positively represents the Famous Dave's brand. Side duties may include answering phones, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning workstations, rolling silverware, expediting orders, and running food. Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality are expected. The role interacts with Guests, explains menu items, answers questions, presents checks, and processes payments. It supports coworkers and other tables as needed, uses the point-of-sale system for orders and shift procedures, checks packed orders with Guests, prepares the catering vehicle, and may drive it to events.

Requirements

Reading, writing, basic math, and superior communication skills are required.
Understanding of federal, state, and local liquor laws.
English-language and professional communication skills are required.
Ability to work in a team environment and calmly and effectively under pressure.
Problem-solving ability; self-motivation and organization.
Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, work under stress, and exercise good judgment.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Previous server or restaurant experience preferred.
Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparation, setup, teardown, and cleanup of food and service items for deliveries and catered events.
Coordinate setups and deliveries and confirm order details and timing.
Serve Guests and suggestively sell menu items and catering menus in a friendly and timely manner.
Ensure catering and delivery orders are accurate, pack orders, and review them with Guests.
Represent the Famous Dave's brand positively.
Greet Guests, explain signature items and the menu, respond to questions, present checks, accept payment, make change, and process card transactions.
Assist other servers and team members by running food, greeting tables, pre-bussing, refilling beverages, and providing help as needed.
Use the point-of-sale system to clock in and out, process and input orders, and complete end-of-shift procedures.
Set up and tear down service-related items at event sites, including tables, chairs, tongs, grills, sanitation buckets, and cooking utensils.
Prepare the catering vehicle with food and service items for events; may drive the vehicle to an event.
Perform side duties such as answering phones, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning workstations, rolling silverware, expediting orders, and running food.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
