About The Position

The Catering person assists with preparation, teardown, and cleanup of food and service items for deliveries and catered events. The role coordinates setups and deliveries, confirms order details and timing, prepares orders accurately, and serves Guests in a friendly and timely manner while suggestively selling menu items. The employee positively represents the Famous Dave's brand and maintains regular, consistent attendance and punctuality. Additional duties may include answering phones, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning workstations, rolling silverware, expediting orders, and running food. The role may include driving a catering vehicle to an event.

Requirements

Reading, writing, basic math, and superior communication skills are required.
Understanding of federal, state, and local liquor laws.
English language and professional communication skills are required.
Ability to work in a team environment and calmly and effectively under pressure.
Problem-solving ability, self-motivation, and organizational skills.
Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, work under stress, and exercise good judgment.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Previous server or restaurant experience preferred.
Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare, tear down, and clean food and service items for deliveries and catered events.
Coordinate event setups and deliveries, and confirm order details and timing.
Serve Guests in a friendly, timely manner and suggestively sell drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and catering menus.
Greet Guests, explain signature items, guide them through the menu, and respond to questions.
Present Guest checks, accept payments, make correct change, and complete charge-card procedures.
Assist other servers and team members by running food, greeting tables, pre-bussing, refilling beverages, and helping as needed.
Use the point-of-sale system to clock in and out, process and input orders, and complete end-of-shift procedures.
Pack orders accurately and review them with Guests.
Set up and tear down Famous Dave's service-related items at event sites, including tables, chairs, tongs, grills, sanitation buckets, and cooking utensils.
Prepare the catering vehicle with food and service items needed for events.
Drive the catering vehicle to events when required.
Perform side duties such as answering phones, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning workstations, rolling silverware, expediting orders, and running food.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
