About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is seeking temporary/on-call Catering Servers to provide guests at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Virginia, with food and drink accompanied by an attentive, positive attitude. The role is on-call and as needed, with availability required from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and weekends. Pay is $16–$18 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous catering and/or serving experience.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to switch between locations and job duties.
• Ability to stand or move about for long periods and lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to handle high-volume customers.
• Reliable transportation.
• Availability to work nights and weekends on an on-call, as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Greet and welcome guests and respond to specific requests courteously.
• Serve and replenish beverages and food in the designated order, and promptly remove dishes and utensils at the end of each course, meal, or function.
• Perform cleaning and service-breakdown tasks while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Reset banquet areas as directed by management to prepare them for other functions.
