About The Position

The Catering Manager manages the Catering Department, including training new associates, overseeing event set-ups, and directing temporary personnel alongside their regular assignments. The role ensures proper client service during events and adherence to set-up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures. The manager also supports catering operations and foodservice-related activities.

Requirements

At least 2 years of food service experience, including 1 year at the management level.
Catering experience is required.
Knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as internet use.
ServSafe Certification.

Nice To Haves

Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.

Responsibilities

Supervise all catering events.
Participate in catering operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility-related activities.
Work with the Chef to create menus.
Train catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
Track and monitor labor and food costs for each event.
Communicate with management, clients, customers, and associates, and maintain excellent client relationships.
Assist with responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
