About The Position

The Bar Porter is a support role in a bar or nightclub setting. The position assists bartenders, keeps the bar area clean and organized, and helps ensure supplies are readily available so the bar operates smoothly and guests have an inviting environment. The role requires guest interaction, compliance with casino policies and safety and health regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting with varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Duties may be added or modified as needed. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Ability to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to read and communicate verbally in English; ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Written English communication may also be required.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Strong physical stamina for lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace and storage areas and to perform tasks precisely, including glassware polishing and garnish preparation.
Ability to collaborate effectively with the bar and service team during busy operations.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic bar or nightclub setting, changing tasks, and shifting priorities.
Proactive approach to keeping the bar organized and well-stocked.
Familiarity with basic cleaning practices and sanitation standards.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a bar porter, barback, or in a similar hospitality role.

Responsibilities

Assist bartenders in preparing and serving beverages accurately and efficiently.
Monitor beverage inventory, restock supplies, and ensure necessary items are available.
Clean and organize the service bar, including the bar top, glassware, utensils, and surrounding areas; clean, sanitize, and tidy during and after service.
Collect, sanitize, and restock used glassware according to safety and hygiene protocols.
Dispose of waste and recyclable materials in designated receptacles.
Greet guests professionally and assist with inquiries about beverages, promotions, and casino-related information.
Follow safety and health regulations, including protocols for handling hazardous materials.
Collaborate with bartenders and other bar porters to maintain efficient service and support guests.
Follow casino policies and procedures, including guest age verification and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
Work in a fast-paced environment with varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
