About The Position

The Casino Bartender/Beverage Server provides superior guest service by following service behavior standards, working well with the team, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to company policies and procedures. The role provides prompt, courteous beverage service and a positive experience for every guest, while promoting casino events and programs and staying informed about promotional beverages, events, and services. The position prepares and pours drinks according to recipes and proper portions, communicates with beverage servers, and presents drinks to guests or servers. It also involves monitoring guest alcohol consumption and intervening according to guidelines; operating and maintaining equipment and utensils safely; processing payments through a cash register or POS system; accounting for cash, charge, and complimentary sales; and keeping the workstation clean, stocked, and compliant with health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

Ability to work in a team environment and under stress as business volume increases.
Mathematical ability to add and subtract and count money and change correctly.
Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 10-hour shifts.
Ability to read, write legibly, understand, and speak English.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Knowledge of cocktail ingredients and proper mixing and pouring techniques.
Ability to be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation.
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, including liquor stock and beer cases or kegs.
Ability to reach above and below the shoulder; grip small items; bend, stoop, and twist while preparing cocktails; and use hand motions to prepare and pour drinks and clean bar areas.
Ability to work in constricting areas and respond to visual and oral cues.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Ability to work in areas with dust, secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration, and crowds.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous beverage refreshment service to guests.
Create a great guest experience through courteous interaction and personalized service, including using guests’ names.
Stay informed about changing promotional beverages, events, and services.
Maintain the integrity of financial controls and responsibilities.
Monitor guests’ alcohol consumption and intervene as needed according to guidelines.
Represent the casino as an ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions, including appearing in publicity photos.
Promote casino events and programs.
Resolve service problems according to guidelines.
Provide fast, friendly, professional beverage service to guests and servers.
Prepare and pour drink orders using proper portions and ingredients according to recipes; communicate with beverage servers and present drinks as required.
Slice and pit fruit as required.
Operate and maintain equipment and utensils in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
Operate a cash register or POS system, ring the correct amount, and provide correct change.
Account for cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedures.
Maintain a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
