About The Position

The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer transactions in a fast-paced food service environment. The role includes operating a cash register, handling cash and electronic payments, providing friendly customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The Cashier also assists with inventory restocking and health and safety standards, buses and cleans tables, runs food to guests, and helps with food preparation and other café tasks. The employee must be willing to step into any kitchen role; kitchen experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 14.
• English reading, writing, and communication skills, plus basic math.
• Basic computer knowledge and comfort using a computer-based point-of-sale system.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
• Idaho Food Safety Certification; training is provided.

Nice To Haves

• Guest service or cashier experience preferred.
• Kitchen experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register, process payments, handle cash, and balance the register.
• Maintain efficient line speed and provide excellent guest service at the register.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain proper stock rotation in the front.
• Bus and clean tables.
• Run food to guests.
• Keep the front area clean, organized, and well-stocked in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Assist other café team members with various tasks during slow periods as needed.
• Help with prep work and be willing to step into any kitchen role.
