About The Position

Bon Appétit Management Company is hiring a full-time Cashier at SAS Marketplace Cafe in Cary, North Carolina. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with no nights or weekends, and pays a fixed rate of $15.00 per hour. The company is willing to train; previous cashier experience is preferred. A free shift meal is offered.

The Cashier performs cashiering duties, including processing cash transactions, verifying the cash drawer, providing change, counting receipts, and completing cash reports. The role may also include general food service work and maintaining sanitation standards in preparation, service, and dining areas.

Requirements

• Previous cashier experience is preferred; the employer is willing to train.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Perform sales transactions in a timely manner.
• Enter sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
• Make change, accept declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment, and issue receipts.
• Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring the cash drawer complies with overage and shortage standards.
• Observe customer purchases in the café line and differentiate between standard portions.
• Replenish condiments, coffee, beverages, and general supplies while keeping service areas clean.
• Keep the pastry case stocked.
• Comply with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
