About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and inviting. The role includes indoor and outdoor cleaning, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires working weekends and holidays and spending most of the shift on one’s feet.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be prepared to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, adaptable, and willing to take on varied tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell when possible.
• Keep the store’s interior and exterior clean and safe, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, and parking lot areas.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support the team and assist wherever needed.
