About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, selling regulated products in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, maintaining merchandise displays, and cleaning both indoor and outdoor areas. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctual, trustworthy, reliable, and responsible.
• Adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell products when appropriate.
• Deep-clean restrooms and maintain clean, safe indoor and outdoor store areas.
• Clean and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and parking lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and well presented.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
