About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, assisting customers, selling age-restricted products in compliance with legal requirements, stocking merchandise, and maintaining indoor and outdoor areas. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and assist wherever needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on foot for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, trustworthiness, and adaptability.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Sell lottery, cigarette, and alcohol products while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell products when appropriate.
Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking lot areas.
Pick up litter, take trash to the dumpster in all weather, and help keep the store safe.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and help wherever needed.
