About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate welcomes customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and organized. The role includes cleaning restrooms and gas pumps, picking up litter, taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions, and maintaining store floors, windows, and entryways. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies while helping the team wherever needed. The position requires weekend and holiday availability, extended periods on one's feet, and work indoors and outdoors in all weather. Applicants must be at least 21, communicate effectively in English, have basic math skills, and be capable of frequent lifting of 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Employment is contingent on required screening, which may include a criminal history background check and drug screening.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable standing for most of a shift and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and adaptable.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, and entryways.
- Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support coworkers and help wherever needed.
