About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with day-to-day convenience store operations and helps keep the store running effectively across shifts. The role includes customer service, register operation, team leadership, hiring and training, inventory and merchandising, scheduling, cash handling, deposits, and store upkeep. The Assistant Manager acts as manager when the Store Manager is away. Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays, with work primarily on second or third shifts. Candidates must be at least 21, have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance, and be willing to obtain food safety certification if needed.

Requirements

Open availability, including weekends and holidays, with likely second- or third-shift work.
Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Comfort with cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas such as fuel pumps.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficient in English and able to perform basic math.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers promptly and accurately.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a team focused on customer service and store success.
Serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
Handle daily cash, make deposits, and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
