About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes operating the register, assisting customers, promoting sales, and handling lottery, cigarette, and alcohol transactions in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements. It also involves substantial cleaning and upkeep inside and outside the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, parking-lot areas, and trash disposal in all weather conditions. Associates stock shelves, coolers, and displays, follow safety procedures and company policies, and may cross-train in other departments such as deli. Candidates should be friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working on their feet in a fast-paced retail environment. Prior retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required. The role requires weekend and holiday availability, effective English communication, basic math skills, and the ability to meet the stated lifting requirements.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Should be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and parking-lot areas.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Help team members and take on other tasks as needed.
