About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports store sales, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked store. The role includes cleaning high-use restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas such as the parking lot and pump area, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies while assisting the team wherever needed. The role requires weekend and holiday availability, working on one’s feet for most of a shift, and comfort working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required. Employment offers are contingent on a background check, and candidates may be required to complete pre-employment drug screening.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be prepared to work on their feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail.
Reliability, punctuality, and trustworthiness.
Adaptability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, and entryways.
Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support coworkers and help wherever needed.
