About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, stocks merchandise, and helps keep the store clean, safe, and running smoothly. The position includes extensive cleaning of both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, the parking lot, and store entryways. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help where needed in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of a shift. The role requires weekend and holiday availability, customer-service skills, basic math and English communication abilities, and the ability to perform the listed lifting tasks. Prior retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of a shift.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be capable of frequently lifting 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Must have a friendly demeanor and a positive, welcoming approach to customers.
Must be detail-oriented, punctual, trustworthy, adaptable, and willing to take on varied tasks.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when appropriate to increase sales.
Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and lot area.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and other store areas.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Help team members and step in wherever needed.
