About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate welcomes customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas such as restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Ability to work on your feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Learn lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales and comply with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when possible.
Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including high-use restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support teammates and help wherever needed.
