About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and operating smoothly. The role includes register operation, customer service and sales, age-restricted product transactions, stocking, and thorough cleaning indoors and outdoors, including restrooms, gas pumps, and the parking lot. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. The position requires working weekends and holidays, spending most of the shift on one’s feet, and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Able to stay on one’s feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
• Flexible and willing to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
• Keep the store clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep and mop, clean windows, and maintain clean and organized entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Work as a team and assist wherever needed.
