About The Position

The Cashier Host provides customer service by greeting guests warmly, courteously, and in a timely manner. The role greets and seats customers, works to recognize guests by remembering names, faces, and other details, and handles payments for meals using a cash register. The employee makes change, issues receipts or tickets, and verifies register totals against cash on hand. They must relay all customer complaints and may serve ice water, bread, and butter when a server is unavailable. Maintaining eye contact is required. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties may include other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Cache Creek Casino Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat customers in a warm, courteous, friendly manner and in a timely manner.
• Recognize guests by remembering names, faces, and information that helps each guest feel unique.
• Receive cash from customers as payment for meals.
• Operate the cash register, make change, and issue receipts or tickets.
• Read and record cash register totals and verify them against cash on hand.
• Relay all customer complaints, no matter how small.
• Serve ice water, bread, and butter if a server is unavailable.
• Maintain eye contact.
