About The Position

The Cashier-Host provides pleasant, prompt, and efficient guest service by seating guests in restaurants, taking and preparing food and beverage orders, and processing payments. The role includes welcoming and escorting guests, managing seating and wait lists, answering questions about menus and food ingredients, and maintaining clean dining and service areas. The position also involves food and beverage preparation, stocking supplies, following food-handling and safety regulations, and handling cash and other payment methods in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding guest service in a friendly environment and follow Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.
• Greet guests, escort them to dining tables, present menus, and take beverage orders when applicable.
• Maintain the seating chart and server station assignments; seat guests appropriately, communicate wait times, and maintain a waiting list as needed.
• Learn menu items and preparation methods and communicate information about venues, menus, and pricing.
• Answer questions about ingredients in food items.
• Handle currency, coupons, comps, credit cards, and other forms of payment in accordance with cash-handling policies and procedures.
• Enter food and beverage orders accurately into the point-of-sale system.
• Learn and/or use suggestive-selling techniques.
• Respond respectfully and helpfully to guest inquiries and concerns, referring them to appropriate personnel when necessary.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Stock merchandise cases and supplies, including rotating food items properly.
• Follow food-handling, health, and safety regulations.
• Take, prepare, and fill guest food orders, including sandwich preparation and heating to-go items.
• Take, prepare, and fill guest beverage orders, including coffee drinks such as mochas, lattes, and espressos.
• Perform minor food preparation, which may include cutting produce and slicing meat.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, menus, point-of-sale signage, cashier and host stands, and food-preparation and merchandising equipment.
• Pre-bus tables continually, keeping them free of dirty dishes and excess clutter.
