About The Position

Paris Baguette is hiring a cashier/barista to help create a warm, welcoming bakery café experience and deliver joy to guests. Retailers act as brand ambassadors, provide excellent customer service, maintain product quality and appealing displays, prepare beverages and coffee, and keep the store clean. Team members may work at the barista, POS, greeter, merchandiser, or pick-up specialist stations as needed. The role involves assisting guests with menu choices and promotions, handling transactions accurately, and supporting café operations with urgency, integrity, and a positive, collaborative attitude.

Requirements

Minimum 1–2 years of retail, customer service, and food-handling experience preferred.
High school diploma/GED or some college preferred.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Positive and passionate attitude, with a high sense of integrity and ownership.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Time management skills and ability to prioritize and follow direction.
Adherence to food safety guidelines.
Proficiency with point-of-sale systems; the current system is Toast. Understanding of accurate cash handling and transactions.
Ability to receive and understand customer feedback and use it to improve service.
High emotional intelligence and ability to work with diverse teams empathetically, intuitively, and with self-motivation.
Team-player attitude that supports a collaborative and engaged environment.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to in-person and phone customers in accordance with Paris Baguette’s standards.
Check product quality and rotate pastries and desserts in displays.
Prepare beverages and coffee during operating hours.
Keep all store areas clean during business hours.
Restock and organize pastries and beverages on display.
Assist guests with inquiries, menu items, promotions, and ordering decisions.
Operate the Toast POS system and accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
Learn about the company’s products, specialty menu items, and coffee.
Greet guests warmly and create a positive, welcoming experience.
Suggestively sell items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
Work at assigned stations as needed, including Barista, POS, Greeter, Merchandiser, and Pick-Up Specialist.
Package pastries to standard and suggest made-to-order beverages at the POS station.
Welcome guests and direct them to the appropriate area when working as a Greeter.
Restock café products and maintain aesthetically pleasing, well-stocked displays when working as a Merchandiser.
Prepare, package, and fulfill pickup and delivery orders promptly when working as a Pick-Up Specialist.
Follow food safety guidelines and collaborate with team members.
