About The Position

The Coffee Shop Barista serves customers in a store coffee shop by preparing beverages, maintaining stocked and clean work areas, and helping ensure customers have a positive experience. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, communicating with customers and teammates, handling food safely, and meeting department standards. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy coffee shop environment.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent experience accepted.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Up to six months of similar or related work experience.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide helpful, positive customer service.
Take orders at the counter and over the phone, help customers find products, and answer questions.
Prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed.
Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list to meet daily needs.
Handle food safely and maintain a clean, neat work area that meets department standards.
Check in products, put them away, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and keep the department tidy.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
