About The Position

The Carryout Attendant supports a welcoming guest experience at Bob Evans by taking and entering carryout orders, packaging orders accurately, and helping ensure food is prepared and delivered promptly according to company standards. The role also supports restaurant operations by assisting dine-in guests and helping maintain clean, organized, and stocked work areas. The position may include other duties or assistance in other job categories as assigned. The role calls for dependable teamwork, attention to detail, menu knowledge, situational selling, and the ability to identify and address issues. Employees regularly stand and walk for extended periods, handle restaurant equipment and food, communicate with guests and teammates, and may lift or transfer up to 50 pounds. Requirements

0–2 years of related experience.
Strong knowledge of commonly used restaurant concepts, practices, and procedures.
Ability to identify and resolve issues as they arise.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Ability to prioritize and use good organizational skills.
Dependability and exceptional teamwork skills.
Ability to stand for an entire shift and walk for long periods without rest or sitting down.
Ability to push, lift, carry, and transfer up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a friendly, warm, and welcoming manner.
Use menu knowledge and situational selling techniques when taking carryout orders.
Package food and beverage orders, condiments, and other appropriate items promptly and accurately.
Ensure items are prepared properly and on time, following company standards.
Communicate professionally with guests to understand their needs and help them make menu selections.
Wear a headset to communicate with managers and teammates and help expedite the guest experience.
Handle cash and credit transactions and accurately account for cash, credit cards, coupons, and gift cards.
Practice safe food and beverage handling and clean up as needed.
Keep the carryout area and general work area clean, free of debris, and stocked.
Safely handle food preparation equipment, including beverage machines and salad cases.
Monitor cleanliness, organization, and stock levels in bakery and retail areas.
Handle guest complaints effectively and involve a manager at the appropriate time.
Answer phone calls in a friendly manner using the company script for the meal period.
Accurately enter carryout orders into the computer system.
Assist with expediting and delivering meals to dine-in guests.
Assist with greeting guests and escorting them to tables.
Assist with cashing out guests when the cashier is unavailable.
Assist with pre-bussing tables, rolling silverware, or other tasks as needed.
Assist in other job categories when asked and perform other duties as assigned.
