About The Position

Griswold Care in Saint Louis Park is hiring a part-time female caregiver to provide companionship and caregiving services to older adults. Care schedules are flexible and may include day or night shifts. Clients may need as little as four hours of care or up to 24-hour care; hours may change based on client needs, care-plan adjustments, and staffing requirements. The role pays $19–$22 per hour, depending on experience. Requirements

• Reliable transportation.
• Current driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a thorough criminal and background record check.
• Adequate language and literacy skills to communicate client needs and requests and read care plans.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and frequently alternate between stationary and moving positions for extended periods.
• Able to demonstrate empathy for vulnerable older adults and value their independence.
• Able to work independently when needed.
• Punctual and hard-working.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Two or more years of home-care experience is a plus; caring for a loved one counts. The employer is willing to train.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and caregiving services to clients.
• Prepare simple meals.
• Use appropriate cleaning techniques in the home environment.
• Read and follow the client’s care plan.
• Communicate client needs and requests, including by telephone or text with the agency office.
• Maintain a cheerful outlook while with clients.
• Drive or transport clients when needed.
