Weekday Afternoon Caregiver in Sarasota
About The Position
Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a fun, compassionate, and dependable caregiver to support a 22-year-old male with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The caregiver will help with activities of daily living, provide companionship, and support community outings, with the aim of helping the individual achieve greater independence and live his best life. The role is offered on an independent contractor basis, not as an employee of the company, and pays $18.00 per hour. The schedule is Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays are flexible.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass local and Level 2 background screening.
- At least one year of caregiving experience or technical training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Positive outlook and contagious energy.
- Patience and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Encourage and support the individual during home activities.
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks.
- Prepare meals and perform light cleaning.
- Ensure the individual’s safety and maintain a safe living environment.
- Accompany the individual to social events and community outings, including grocery shopping and appointments.
- Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization.
- Complete daily progress notes.
