About The Position

The Collier Companies is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to support the Maintenance Team in maintaining the physical aspects of the property according to company standards. The role requires troubleshooting and diagnosing problems and developing solutions with a customer-service attitude. Repairs may include HVAC (if certified), electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliance work. The position is based at a community office in Sarasota, Florida, and includes emergency on-call duties and overtime during the Summer/Fall turn season. Applicants must complete a candidate assessment and pass a background check as part of the hiring process.

Requirements

At least one year of experience as a maintenance technician is preferred.
Working knowledge of appliances, plumbing, and HVAC.
Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and emergency on-call rotation.
Proven track record of excellent customer service.
Must have basic tools and be able to pass a basic maintenance test.
Reliable transportation and a valid in-state driver's license are required.
Must complete the required candidate assessment and background check.

Nice To Haves

Universal EPA certification is a plus.
Apartment housing experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the Maintenance Team in ensuring the property's physical aspects meet established standards.
Troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance problems and develop solutions while providing excellent customer service.
Perform repairs involving HVAC (if certified), electrical, plumbing, pools, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances.
Complete work orders in an organized, efficient, and detail-oriented manner.
Participate in an emergency on-call rotation and work overtime during the Summer/Fall turn season.
