About The Position
TheKey is hiring caregivers to provide one-to-one in-home support to aging adults in Monterey, Carmel, Pebble Beach, and Pacific Grove, California. The role is available full-time or part-time, with all shifts currently hiring. Pay is listed at $20–$22 per hour, with top rates of $22 per hour. Caregivers help clients with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. Drivers are a plus, and the role requires a valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle. TheKey describes itself as the largest provider of private-pay in-home care for aging seniors in North America. Its local teams support caregivers as they help clients maintain quality of life. Applicants must meet California registration and background-screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States. Fingerprint identification is required as a condition of employment; a conditional offer will be rescinded if an applicant has a non-exemptible conviction, in compliance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional caregiving experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- HCA Registration with the State of California, including meeting state background requirements; TheKey can help applicants obtain registration after hire.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle.
- TB clearance or chest X-ray.
- Must comply with state background-screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must provide timely and accurate positive fingerprint identification as a condition of employment.

- Driving experience or willingness to drive clients; drivers are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.
- Provide light housekeeping, including basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Drive clients to appointments and run errands, including grocery shopping.
- Provide companionship and social and emotional support through games, puzzles, and other activities.
