Care Associate - Memory Care (Full time days and evenings)
About The Position
The Care Associate provides assistance to residents in the Memory Care Program with activities of daily living, helping them lead a quality life while maintaining their dignity. The role includes providing companionship and support, encouraging independence through assistance and restorative interventions, and supporting residents’ participation in individual and group activities. The Care Associate also serves residents during meals and helps with laundry and basic housekeeping in the memory care neighborhood. The position requires a positive, professional, and helpful approach toward residents, visitors, and coworkers, and timely follow-up on resident, family, and employee concerns.
Requirements
- Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and other employees, and respond to and communicate during emergency situations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Compassionate, kind, engaging, and helpful demeanor.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with seniors with dementia, including participating in activities, is preferred.
- A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.
Responsibilities
- Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
- Assist, encourage, and provide restorative interventions for Memory Care residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
- Serve residents during mealtime.
- Assist with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood.
- Respond to and follow up on resident, family, and employee concerns in a timely manner to support customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and coworkers.
