About The Position
The Care Associate provides assistance to residents in the Memory Care Program with activities of daily living, helping them maintain quality of life and dignity. The role includes companionship, support, restorative interventions, and assistance with personal care and mobility. The Care Associate also participates in and leads individual and group activities, serves residents during meals, assists with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping, and responds to concerns from residents, families, and employees.
Requirements
- Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and other employees, and respond to and communicate about emergency situations.
- Basic computer skills; proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word is required.
- Compassionate, kind, engaging, and helpful demeanor.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and co-workers.
- A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with seniors with dementia, including participation in activities, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
- Assist, encourage, and provide restorative interventions to Memory Care residents so they can be as independent as possible with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
- Serve residents during mealtime.
- Assist with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood.
- Ensure resident, family, and employee concerns receive timely responses and follow-up.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and co-workers.
