Responsibilities
- Evaluate compliance and card scheme requirements associated with payments products such as merchant due diligence, fraud, AML, and chargebacks
- Assess the financial crime risks of new products in the Spend and Receive product domains
- Upskill yourself and the product teams on the risks and regulations
- Communicate compliance and risk requirements to non-compliance stakeholders
- Solve problems while balancing growth, risk, and compliance
- Explain the controls approach to 2LOD and manage operational compliance impact for new product launches
- Ensure the implementation of risk mitigation strategies and approaches to scale products
- Ensure financial crime controls are fit for purpose for all products in the Spend and Receive teams
- Collaborate with various stakeholders such as product, operations, and other compliance teams
- Analyze and solve problems with an analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Communicate clearly and coordinate projects effectively
- Maintain professionalism, high integrity, and a sense of camaraderie
- Challenge teams and oneself on how to best serve customers while keeping processes robust and compliant
- Be willing to travel internationally (25% of the time)
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of compliance experience at a payments or acquiring institution
- Minimum 3 years focused on financial crime compliance
- Experience collaborating with various stakeholders such as product, operations, and other compliance teams
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Clear communication, project coordination, and management skills
- Sense of camaraderie and good humor under pressure or tight deadlines
- Wisdom, world view, and talent for thinking outside the box
- Professionalism and high integrity
- Willingness to challenge teams and themselves on how to best serve customers while keeping processes robust and compliant
- 25% international travel required when possible
