About The Position

The Capriotti's Sandwich Shop Lead Team Member delivers exceptional guest service while preparing and serving hot and cold food and light food offerings in the hotel café or market. The role leads the shop during a shift, helping the team create a welcoming guest experience for hotel guests, visitors, and associates while maintaining cleanliness, product quality, and operational efficiency in accordance with brand standards.

The position includes preparing and serving menu items, taking orders and processing transactions, keeping the shop and café areas clean and stocked, following food safety and sanitation practices, managing inventory, and supporting opening and closing procedures. The Lead Team Member also trains and guides team members, responds to guest concerns, and works with hotel departments to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous food service, café, hospitality, or food and beverage experience is preferred.
• Hotel or resort experience is suggested.
• Strong guest service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Flexible availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Ability to safely operate food and beverage equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Basic cash handling and POS experience preferred.
• Previous food service, café, hospitality, or food and beverage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome hotel guests and patrons in a warm, friendly, and professional manner consistent with hotel service standards.
• Delegate duties and assign tasks to prepare team members to serve guests.
• Oversee food production and check that it meets quality and brand standards.
• Train team members and demonstrate shop operations.
• Prepare and serve sandwiches and other café menu items according to established recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Take guest orders accurately and process transactions through the POS system.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities, outlets, and local area information to assist guests.
• Provide excellent hospitality and personalized service.
• Keep the Shop and Cup of Joe Café, seating areas, counters, displays, and equipment clean, organized, and stocked.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and brand standards for food and beverage preparation and handling.
• Manage inventory, restock products, and notify leadership about low inventory or maintenance concerns.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and balancing responsibilities.
• Maintain the quality and consistency of food and beverages served.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Front Office, and hotel leadership teams to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Maintain professionalism, attendance, grooming, and uniform standards in accordance with hotel policies.
