About The Position

The Cannabis Advisor provides individualized customer service and educational consulting, and may manage patient records. The role helps customers and patients navigate cannabis products and understand their types, methods of use, and efficacy as wellness products, without providing medical advice. Advisors support a fast-paced retail operation by assisting customers, maintaining the sales floor and inventory, processing transactions, and complying with applicable cannabis regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Must undergo a criminal background check and obtain appropriate state badging as directed by state ordinances.
• Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application and consumption methods.
• Ability to use office equipment, including computers and printers, and software such as Word, Excel, and email.
• Ability to learn and understand federal, state, and local cannabis-industry laws and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
• Advocate for cannabis customer care.
• Help customers and patients navigate cannabis and learn about its use as a wellness product.
• Build rapport with regular patients and customers to encourage repeat business.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
• Provide information on the types, methods, and efficacy of cannabis products without providing medical advice.
• Participate in ongoing cannabis education and training.
• Provide support to managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
• Keep the workstation and storefront clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Verify the accuracy of online orders before pickup.
• Understand and apply compliance regulations required by local and state laws.
• Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of regulated and unregulated inventory.
• Complete point-of-sale transactions and ensure the state-monitored inventory system accurately updates product availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
