About The Position

The Cannabis Advisor provides individualized customer service and educational consulting, and may manage patient records. The role helps customers and patients understand cannabis products and their potential wellness uses, without providing medical advice. It also involves retail transactions, inventory and order accuracy, compliance with cannabis regulations, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The position pays $15 per hour plus tips, with weekly pay.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Must undergo a criminal background check and obtain appropriate state badging as directed by state ordinances.
• Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application and consumption methods.
• Ability to use computers, printers, and included software such as Word, Excel, and email.
• Ability to learn and understand federal, state, and local cannabis-industry laws and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
• Advocate for cannabis customer care.
• Help customers and patients navigate cannabis products and educate them about their potential use as wellness products.
• Build rapport with regular patients and customers to encourage repeat business.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Provide information about the types, methods, and efficacy of cannabis products without giving medical advice.
• Participate in ongoing cannabis education and training.
• Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
• Clean, organize, and sanitize the workstation and storefront.
• Verify the accuracy of online orders before pickup.
• Understand and apply compliance regulations required by local and state laws.
• Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of regulated and unregulated inventory.
• Complete point-of-sale transactions and ensure the state-monitored inventory system accurately updates product availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
