About The Position

Hope for Haiti seeks a creative, organized, and proactive volunteer to support a fundraising initiative centered around the annual Les Cayes Half Marathon in Les Cayes, Haiti. The initiative aims to recruit 5–10 runners from Haiti and international communities, each committing to raise a minimum of $5,000 to support participation costs and Hope for Haiti’s programs. Working closely with the Chief Program Officer and Communications team, the volunteer will help develop and execute a marketing and recruitment strategy, engage prospective participants and running communities, manage campaign communications, and support registered runners throughout the initiative. The volunteer will also coordinate participant communications with the Development and Operations teams and provide remote or optional in-person support during race week. This is an unpaid, part-time volunteer opportunity running from November 2026 through April 2027. It averages approximately 8–10 hours per week, with flexibility based on campaign needs; additional availability may be required during race week. The position is primarily remote and open to national and international candidates. Volunteers based in Les Cayes may work from Hope for Haiti’s office if preferred. Travel to Haiti is optional and not required to fulfill the role. Volunteers attending in person may participate through the campaign fundraising package or may qualify for organization-sponsored event travel by recruiting at least 10 confirmed fundraising participants; sponsored travel is subject to the organization’s travel, security, and approval procedures.
