About The Position

As a Cake Decorator at Sam's Club, you drive member service in the bakery by helping deliver products members love and working collaboratively with associates to meet member expectations. You plan bakery production and create decorative designs on bakery items, including flowers and lettering, while following recipes, food-safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold-chain requirements, and inventory practices. You also maintain equipment, use digital tools to support production and business decisions, manage quality and date controls, reduce waste, prepare for seasonal demand, and assist members with purchasing decisions and concerns. The role includes supporting and developing associates, contributing to a respectful and team-oriented workplace, and modeling high-quality service. Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
Provide customer service, adapt to business needs, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
Plan bakery production and ensure the quality and accuracy of decorative designs.
Follow recipe and measurement instructions and use decorating bags, tips, and nozzles to create decorative flowers and lettering.
Follow food-safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold-chain requirements, and inventory-management practices.
Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment, and understand product and layout execution.
Use digital and handheld tools to make decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality.
Drive bakery-area performance by maintaining quality and date-control standards and reducing waste.
Prepare for seasonal events that affect bakery volume, such as holidays, graduations, and family events.
Identify member needs, help members make purchasing decisions, and resolve member issues and concerns.
Model high-quality service and products and support the training, development, and engagement of associates.
Follow company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, and complete work assignments and priorities.
Collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners; communicate progress and recommend improvements.
