About The Position

The Cafe Associate prepares and serves food, drinks, and ingredients for customers, including candy, baked goods, and fudge. The role performs functions across the café and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop, which may include deli service, food case, barista, grill, ice cream, baked goods, fudge, and other duties assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor. The associate follows food safety and cashier procedures, supports inventory handling and storage, and keeps workspaces, dining areas, machines, and equipment clean and orderly. This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours per week. The schedule is flexible within assigned hours between 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. Weekday morning availability is required, and associates must be available at least every other weekend or two weekends per month. Schedules may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role requires the ability to perform repetitive fudge-production tasks and a range of physical activities, including standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Heavy work may require exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Reasonable accommodations may be provided. Requirements

High school education, up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work an assigned schedule, including varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Weekday morning availability and availability at least every other weekend or two weekends per month.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Ability to perform the listed physical activities with or without reasonable accommodation, including heavy work involving lifting or exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.

Responsibilities

Prepare food, drinks, and ingredients for sale, including candy, baked goods, and fudge.
Perform café and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop functions, potentially including deli line, food case, barista, grill, ice cream, baked goods, and fudge duties.
Maintain working knowledge of café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods.
Meet deadlines for fudge production and customer requests.
Follow food safety guidelines established by SCHEELS and applicable state and local ordinances.
Receive and store products according to Standard Operating Guidelines.
Follow SCHEELS cashier guidelines for café registers.
Perform side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning, machine and equipment cleaning, and opening and closing procedures.
Keep personal workspaces, surrounding areas, and dining areas orderly and exceptionally clean.
Perform repetitive fudge production processes, including stirring, pulling, and cutting.
Speak effectively with groups of customers and employees.
Read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Follow safety procedures and perform job duties in a way that minimizes injury risk.
