About The Position

Nino Salvaggio is hiring a Cafe Associate for its Livonia location. The associate prepares and serves beverages and food, provides courteous customer service, processes purchases, maintains cafe supplies and displays, and keeps the work area clean and compliant with safety and sanitation policies. The role also includes answering and routing phone calls, handling damaged or spoiled products, notifying management about safety or equipment issues, assisting with associate training when needed, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Reliable transportation.
Previous cash-handling and customer-service experience.
Ability to stand and/or walk for periods of eight or more hours.
Ability to operate equipment safely and correctly.
Ability to multitask, maintain a positive attitude, and solve problems.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Previous coffee bar or cafe experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies, and other beverages.
Serve food items such as hot soup, baked goods, and pizza, and prepare them as necessary.
Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service or assistance.
Complete customer purchases according to cash management guidelines.
Answer multi-line phone calls and transfer or route calls as needed.
Maintain displays and stock coffee bar supplies, including beverages, condiments, utensils, and baked goods.
Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance, including proper hair restraint.
Handle damaged or spoiled products according to department guidelines and help control damaged goods.
Maintain cleanliness in compliance with safety and sanitation policies.
Notify management immediately about safety or equipment issues or violations.
Assist in training associates when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
