KQED envisions a public media organization centered on human dignity, equity, and belonging, enabling it to better serve and reflect the Bay Area through diverse and inclusive storytelling. Its mission is to provide Northern California residents with a community-supported alternative to commercial media; inform decision-making, convene community dialogue, bring the arts to everyone, engage audiences in sharing their stories, support students and teachers, and offer journeys of exploration. KQED values contributions from marginalized communities and strongly encourages members of those communities to apply.
