About The Position

DeWitt LLP seeks a motivated, collaborative, and results-oriented Business Development & Marketing Specialist to join our Business Development & Marketing team. This highly visible, hands-on role works closely with attorneys and firm leadership to strengthen client relationships, pursue new business opportunities, build the DeWitt brand, and support the firm's continued growth. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator who enjoys both strategy and execution. This person is curious, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while working directly with attorneys across practices and offices. They understand how thoughtful marketing and business development can align a firm's capabilities with client needs and turn ideas into meaningful opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in business development, marketing, client development or a related role within a professional services environment preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling, and client-focused communications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work directly with attorneys, firm leaders and business professionals.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with WordPress and email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design tools.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and willingness to take ownership of projects from idea through execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Legal marketing or law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with SEO, digital marketing, social media, and emerging AI tools and search practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with attorneys and the Business Development & Marketing team to identify and pursue opportunities to deepen client relationships and win new work.
  • Develop tailored proposals, RFP responses, pitches and presentations that clearly convey DeWitt’s capabilities, experience and value to clients.
  • Create and regularly update pitch materials, practice group descriptions, experience lists, brochures and other business development collateral.
  • Support practice groups and individual attorneys with business development planning, client outreach, and profile-building initiatives.
  • Research clients, prospects, industries and market opportunities to support business development efforts.
  • Track marketing and business development activities and help evaluate results, return on investment and opportunities for improvement.
  • Help attorneys translate their experience and insights into compelling, client-focused messaging.
  • Draft, edit and publish content for the firm’s website, social media channels, email communications and other platforms.
  • Create engaging social media content and graphics and maintain the firm’s social media editorial calendar.
  • Maintain and update website content using WordPress, with attention to SEO, AI search visibility, usability and brand consistency.
  • Draft, edit and maintain attorney biographies, practice descriptions and other website content.
  • Identify opportunities to showcase attorney experience through thought leadership, media opportunities, firm news, events and client-focused content.
  • Write and coordinate submissions for legal directories, awards and rankings.
  • Support website development and other digital initiatives, including coordination with outside vendors.
  • Help ensure DeWitt’s brand and messaging are consistently reflected across marketing and business development materials.
  • Coordinate CLE programs, client seminars, webinars, conferences, receptions, sponsorships and other firm events.
  • Manage event logistics, including venues, contracts, catering, invitations, registration, presentation materials and follow-up communications.
  • Work with attorneys to develop programs and events that provide meaningful value to clients and prospects.
  • Support event promotion and post-event engagement and help evaluate participation and results.
  • Coordinate the firm’s participation in selected sponsorships, conferences, directories, and other visibility opportunities.
  • Develop and distribute internal communications, including firm news, employee announcements and Business Development & Marketing updates.
  • Maintain relevant content on the firm’s intranet.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and business professionals across DeWitt’s offices and practice areas.
  • Support firmwide strategic, branding, and business development initiatives.
  • Perform other marketing and business development responsibilities as opportunities and priorities evolve.
  • Travel occasionally to other DeWitt offices, client events and firm programs.
