About The Position

The Business Consultant is responsible for the strategic and ongoing improvement of the Bank’s business plans. The role analyzes and evaluates current practices, advises business units on ways to maximize results, and recommends best practices and methodologies. It collaborates with consulting team members and other staff to improve efficiency, identifies process weaknesses, and develops solutions. The position also supports management in implementing large-scale strategic initiatives that generate business growth, leads special projects, mentors the associate team, and handles complex issues affecting daily workflow.

This is a hybrid role, with work regularly taking place both inside and outside the New York office.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience, or a high school diploma or GED/equivalent and 12 years of experience.
• Experience in business strategy, project planning, and the financial services industry.
• Lean Six Sigma experience or certification.
• Financial or accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current plans, processes, and requirements to identify factors negatively affecting business units.
• Develop strategies and solutions to address identified business issues and coordinate efforts to achieve results.
• Lead special projects and serve as a resource to the wider business unit or organization.
• Provide guidance, feedback, and direction on complex matters.
• Assist in communicating performance results and expected behaviors.
• May oversee the daily workflow of an analyst team.
• Produce reports based on analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities.
• Identify patterns, problems, and areas for improvement, and track the effectiveness of implemented enhancements.
• Create specifications, project plans, and other documentation supporting business initiatives.
• May review or verify team reports.
• Source, compile, and interpret data; perform complex data analysis; and communicate and direct analysis output.
