Bleau Bar Bus Person - On Call
About The Position
The Bus Person maintains the cleanliness of the bar area, clears and resets tables, and supports bartenders and servers to provide guests with a seamless and pleasant experience. The role includes clearing and cleaning tables, collecting used dishware, keeping the bar counter organized, delivering drinks, replenishing water, setting tables, assisting guests, maintaining bar-area cleanliness, restocking supplies, and collaborating with the team during regular operations and busy periods or special events. Duties may be added or modified as necessary. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The work environment is usually moderately noisy and may include unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke. Compensation is $18.12 per hour.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift and carry heavy trays or bus tubs.
- Effective communication skills for working with colleagues and guests.
- Positive attitude and willingness to provide exceptional guest service.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
- Ability to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English; written English communication may also be required.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance, including in confined spaces.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Bus Person or in a similar role in an upscale bar, lounge, or restaurant is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic bar operations and service etiquette is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Clear and clean tables promptly after guests leave.
- Collect used glassware, plates, and other dishware and deliver them to the designated cleaning area.
- Keep the bar counter clean and organized by clearing empty glasses and bar accessories.
- Support bartenders and servers by delivering drinks, replenishing water glasses, and providing attentive service.
- Set up tables with clean glassware, napkins, and utensils according to service standards.
- Greet guests, assist with seating, and respond courteously to guest requests.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar tops, floors, and surrounding surfaces in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with bartenders, servers, and other staff to support smooth bar operations.
- Support the team during peak hours and special events while maintaining service standards.
- Restock glassware, straws, napkins, and other bar supplies as needed.
