About The Position

The Bus Person assists food servers in providing prompt, friendly service. The role helps ensure tables are clean and ready before guests are seated, takes and delivers non-alcoholic beverages, and keeps tables properly stocked with condiments. The position requires a professional appearance, a positive image when interacting with the public, and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy dining environment.

The work may include weekends, nights, and early mornings. The Bus Person must be able to carry and balance a service tray on the shoulder, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and tolerate secondary smoke and high noise levels. The employee must remain calm under stress when business volume increases and obtain any permits required by local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• A high school diploma is normally the basis for acquiring the required skills.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to obtain all local, state, and federal regulatory permits required by the position.
• Ability to carry and balance a service tray on the shoulder.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke and high noise levels.
• Ability to work calmly under stress when business volume increases.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and ensure each guest has a dining room menu.
• Take and deliver non-alcoholic beverage orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines.
• Periodically check assigned tables to determine whether guests would like additional items or service.
• Assist food servers in providing prompt and friendly service.
• Ensure tables are clean before guests are seated and properly stocked with condiments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
