The role includes welcoming customers, learning about their preferences, recommending products, and explaining product advantages, potential effects, and safe consumption methods to support informed choices and responsible consumption. The Budtender also helps maintain an appealing and organized store, keeps informed about products, industry trends, and regulations, processes sales and cash transactions, and follows company policies and applicable state and local regulations. The role works collaboratively with the team and supports the Management Team with store activities and other assigned duties. Responsibilities and time allocations may vary according to business needs. This is a part-time role at the R. Greenleaf location in Hobbs, New Mexico. Compensation is $13.00 per hour, with potential earnings up to $16.30 per hour including variable tips. Store hours and schedules vary by location and business needs; stores are open seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Applicants must be able to lift 25 pounds or more multiple times per day and obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in Colorado.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in cash handling and accurate basic math calculations.
Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
Ability to lift 25 pounds or more multiple times per day.
Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in Colorado.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products is a plus.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers professionally and listen to their preferences and needs.
Provide product insights and personalized recommendations based on customer preferences and intended use.
Educate customers about cannabis products, including potential effects, advantages, and safe consumption methods.
Maintain a neat, appealing store environment and organized product displays.
Stay informed about industry trends, product releases, and regulatory changes to provide accurate customer information.
Process cash transactions and sales using the point-of-sale system.
Follow company policies and procedures and comply with state and local regulations.
Collaborate with coworkers to support a positive, customer-centric work environment.
Support the Management Team with customer assistance, checkouts, cash handling, and other store activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Management Team.
