About The Position

C3 Industries is seeking a part-time Budtender (described in the posting as a Sales Associate) for its High Profile Cannabis Shop in Springfield, Illinois. The role delivers customer service and supports sales through personalized product recommendations, effective upselling, and guidance in selecting and purchasing cannabis products. Budtenders help create a positive customer experience while contributing to store performance. The position is based at 4211 Conestoga Dr, Springfield, IL 62711. The listed rate of pay is $17.00 per hour. Store operating hours are 9–9 Sunday through Thursday and 9–10 Friday and Saturday. The role includes customer check-in and identification verification, educating customers about cannabis products, processing online orders, maintaining the sales floor and waiting room, and supporting inventory, cash handling, and compliance activities. The Budtender works with the management team and must follow applicable company, security, and state and local requirements. Candidates must be at least 21, pass a background check, and obtain and maintain required state licenses for the work location. The physical work may involve standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods; using standard office, retail, or production equipment; occasional bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, or repetitive movements; and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds, with frequent movement of up to 25 pounds. Work conditions may vary by location and may include different temperatures, noise levels, equipment, facility environments, or retail settings. Requirements

At least 1 year of customer service experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash-handling practices.
Commitment to regularly reaching key performance indicators.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to correspond professionally.
Ability to pass a background check.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Must obtain and maintain required state licenses based on work location.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality customer service and make the customer experience a priority.
Meet or exceed individual sales targets and conversion-rate goals using effective sales techniques and an understanding of customer needs.
Greet customers and perform initial check-in verification of required identification.
Help new customers with state-required forms and update customer information in the system as needed.
Maintain the waiting room and keep the sales floor stocked during downtime.
Educate customers about cannabis properties and help select genetics suited to their desired effects, ailments, or requests.
Fill online orders quickly and efficiently while prioritizing the customer experience.
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate them to management when needed.
Maintain knowledge of products, brands, and strains, and keep up with cannabis trends.
Use and maintain the point-of-sale system accurately.
Follow cash-handling policies and perform daily cash management and compliance reporting.
Assist with product intake, inventory counts, and regular audits.
Work with the management team to increase sales and foot traffic.
Support daily compliance with dispensary policies, including state and local regulations, security and access protocols, inventory tracking, dress codes, and work schedules.
