Budtender Part Time (Starbuds)
About The Position
The Budtender provides exceptional customer service and in-depth product knowledge to create a positive, educational shopping experience for customers. The role involves learning customers’ preferences, recommending cannabis products, explaining potential effects and safe consumption methods, and promoting responsible and informed consumption. Budtenders also maintain an appealing store environment, keep current on products and regulations, process sales and cash transactions, and support store operations while following company policies and applicable laws. This is a part-time position at the Star Buds location in Garden City, Colorado. The schedule varies according to business needs; stores operate seven days a week, with hours that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in cash handling and accurate basic math calculations.
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more multiple times per day.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in Colorado.
- Availability for a schedule that varies based on business needs, potentially including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred.
- Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers professionally, listen to their preferences and needs, and provide personalized product recommendations.
- Educate customers on cannabis products, potential effects, benefits, and safe consumption methods.
- Keep the store neat and visually appealing, and maintain organized product displays.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and changing regulations.
- Manage cash transactions and use the point-of-sale system to process sales.
- Follow company policies and procedures and comply with state and local regulations.
- Collaborate with teammates to support a positive, customer-focused work environment.
- Support the Management Team with store activities, customer assistance, checkouts, and cash handling.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Management Team.
