About The Position

As a Budtender at Star Buds, you provide exceptional customer service, in-depth product knowledge, and a positive, educational shopping experience. You help customers make informed choices by sharing information about cannabis products, their potential effects, and safe consumption methods. You also maintain an inviting store environment, process sales, follow company policies and applicable regulations, and collaborate with the team to support effective store operations. This is a part-time role at a Star Buds location in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Compensation is $15.71 per hour plus variable tips.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in cash handling and accurate basic math calculations.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds or more multiple times per day.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in Colorado.
• Availability may be needed for nights, weekends, and holidays; schedule varies according to business needs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers professionally and listen to their preferences and needs.
• Recommend products suited to customers’ preferences and intended use.
• Educate customers about cannabis products, potential effects, and safe consumption methods.
• Keep the store neat and appealing, with well-organized product displays.
• Stay informed about industry trends, product releases, and changing regulations.
• Handle cash transactions and use the point-of-sale system to process sales.
• Follow company policies and procedures and comply with state and local regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to support a positive, customer-focused work environment.
• Support the Management Team with store activities, customer assistance, checkouts, and cash handling.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Management Team.
